Apart from running the State's high school debating competition, WADL
provides a number of services to the general community. If you think we
can assist you in any matter related to debating or public speaking, please contact us.
RotaryWADL is a proud supporter of the Rotary 4 Way Speaking Competition and provides adjudicators to Rotary clubs across the Perth Metropolitan area to judge the preliminary rounds and finals of each district competition.Given our history of involvement with the competition we have adjudicators with experience regarding the marking system for the competition. If your Rotary club is interested in obtaining WADL's assistance regarding the judgment of your district 4 Way Speaking do not hesitate to contact us WADL AdjudicatorsWADL employs approximately 40 adjudicators, all of whom are formal WADL, State or Australian schools debaters.Our adjudicators have been trained and accedited by WADL and most have several years experience adjudicating all levels of senior school debating. Some of our adjudicators have been accredited by the Australian Debating Federation and have adjudicated at the National Schools Debating Championships. WADL provides accredited adjudicators to many debating competitions and community organisations including the AHISA debating competition, High School Country Week Speech Awards and the Rotary 4 Way Speaking Competition. If your debating competition or organisation is interested in engaging WADL adjudicators please do not hesitate to contact us. Coaching/SeminarsWADL employs approximately 40 adjudicators, all of whom are formal WADL, State or Australian schools debaters.Our adjudicators have been trained and accedited by WADL and most have several years experience adjudicating all levels of senior school debating. Some of our adjudicators have been accredited by the Australian Debating Federation and have adjudicated at the National Schools Debating Championships. At the beginning of each year WADL holds a seminar and demonstration debate for our member schools, at which we explain the "basics" of WADL debating. WADL adjudicators also attend at schools to provide additional seminars and support to less experienced debaters and coordinators. If you are a WADL member and you would like to attend a seminar, or your debating competition or organisation is interested in obtaining assistance from WADL, please do not hesitate to contact us. Demonstration DebatesAt the beginning of each year WADL holds a seminar and demonstration debate for our member schools, at which we explain the "basics" of WADL debating.Current or former members of the WA or National Schools Debating Team then participate in a formal "senior division format" demonstration debate designed to show students how to debate effectively.
